Split and Insurance
When you receive a pair, you can use Split to divide the cards into two hands and play each separately. Even when splitting Aces, some tables do not allow you to Hit after an A-A Split, so check the table rules in advance.
Some games offer Insurance when the Dealer's Up-card is an Ace. Experienced players often decline Insurance because mathematically it is not favorable and increases the House Edge over the long run.
